DVSA ADI Part 2 Test Marking System
The driving test is marked by the Examiner recording any faults that are made, and categorising how serious they are, there are 3 categories of fault recorded:-
Driving Faults
Serious Faults
Dangerous Faults
Driving Faults
A Driving Fault is any error or any deviation from “Best practice” which does not involve any actual or potential danger
A Driving Fault is one that is not judged to be serious enough to fail a test on its own, but accumulating seven or more driving faults will result in failing the ADI Part 2 Test.
Serious Faults
A Serious Fault is an error that involves potential danger, causing an unacceptable risk to either the test candidate or to other road users, or a significant deviation from “Best Practice”
A Serious Fault is one that is judged to be important enough on its own to fail the ADI Part 2 Test, even if it is the only fault committed on the test.
Dangerous Faults
A Dangerous Fault is an error that involves actual danger, one dangerous fault will fail the ADI Part 2 Test even if it is the only fault committed on the test.
