Diamond Advanced Motorists Driving Test
The Diamond Advanced Motorists Driving Test is an advanced driving test which can be taken by any full licence holder.
This test is NOT a qualifying exam to become a Driving Standards Agency Approved Driving Instructor.
The Diamond Advanced Motorists Test is a very similar test to the ADI Part 2 Driving Test, it is the same duration, has similar content (excluding the emergency stop), uses the same marking system, and has the same pass/fail criteria.
The Examiners are all Approved Driving Instructors who also hold the Diploma in Driving Instruction, and have passed either the Cardington Special Driving Test, or The Diamond Special Driving Test (Both are very high level driving tests lasting 1½ hours and requiring a standard of no more than 2 driving faults to achieve a pass) and they have also completed the Diamond Examiners Course.
The Diamond Test is approved by the Driving Standards Agency who also monitor its standards.
As the Diamond Advanced Motorists Test is a very similar test to the ADI Part 2 Driving Test we strongly recommend that you take it before attempting the ADI Part 2 Driving Test, using it as a “mock test” under real test conditions, with an examiner you have not previously met without risking one of your three “lives”.
We have therefore incorporated the Diamond Test into our training programme.
